Oreos from above... - June 26

So we woke up way before the girls today, which never happens, and started to pack up camp. Jarod started on breakfast, egg and cheese sandwiches, while me and Chad finished taking down the tent.

After the wonderful cheese egg sandwiches, we finished off the amazing glazed donuts and cookie dough. We had everything packed up and ready to go before the girls even got out of there tents. So we went to a coffee shop to upload some pictures and post to the blog. We waited a little bit and saw the girls walking to the store and said they were almost ready. Then they walked out with a box of donuts and said we might be a while...lol. We just laughed and said we think we are rubbing off on you guys. So me, Chad, and Jarod kept on keeping on. We rode through the Payette national forest where Chad found his license plate, I still have yet to find one.

It was a small climb this morning but all down hill to lunch, which is always the best time of the day. This day was especially a good day for lunch for one of the craziest things on the trip happened. We are cruising with a strong tail wind when me and Chad both yell at each other....did you see that pack of Oreos? I tell Jarod to stop while Chad rides back to check them out of the ditch. Chad is about 80 feet back down the road and all me and Jarod hear is Chad just giggle! We knew this was a good sign for their must be some Oreos in the pack. He pulls up and we open the package up, let's just say someone was mad cuz they left their package of Oreos on the side of the road. So yes....we ate the Oreos and they were the best Oreos ever! Sun baked and warm....wow I'm salivating as I type this blog! We didn't know what to call this blessing...mana from heaven...Oreos from above...but regardless we about fell over laughing on the side of the road after it set In that we just ate Oreos from the side of the road.

After we caught our breath, we headed into the next town to eat lunch. We felt like crap after the Oreos and the donuts covered in cookie dough from last night. We pulled up to a small park and met up with the four guys biking across country again, it was nice to talk to catch up with them. Lunch was great, ramen bombs again with Arizona ice tea! The girls caught up with us and we all ate lunch together, but sat at the play ground too long. Due to us clearly not thinking this threw the whole way, me, Chad, and Jarod decided to have a playground challenge. We sat on the merry-go-round for 30 seconds as someone pushed it as fast as they could go. Then up the monkey bars and down the slide to the middle of the merry-go-round again. It was intense and made us want to puke from everything we ate. We gathered our selves and headed off to Riggins, ID. We neared the town and came across hundreds of cars along the bank of the river. We found out that salmon swim all the way from the ocean up the river and this is the prime spot to fish for them. We made our way past all the fishermen and found a park to set up camp. Right away me, Chad , and jarod tried to find a rafting company that would takes us or let us rent equipment to go down the river. We followed it all day and the rapids were unreal. We finally came across one that would let us if we came in the morning! It was only $18 a person, can't get any better! Well not everyone wanted to and we decided it would just be better if we kept on riding in the morning. We started dinner which might be in the running for best creation on the trip. We like to call this dinner.....BWB's, or Beanie Wienie burritos. You cook beans and add some hot dogs, bring all to a good boil and then serve on a delicious burrito. After dinner we rode our bike to the store to get celebration food for entering a new state...a half gallon of ice cream each! We are planning on continuing this tradition every time we enter a new state. We sat on a picnic table and talked with the girls and finally about 12:30 we crawled into bed.
