So after a well nights rest we started to pack up and went to a little bakery and got DONUTS! We got directions to the bike shop and took our first steps into Portland, it was a beautiful morning. We made it about 3/4 of a mile out of the airport and then......a car slows down and stops in front of us. Many different things were going through our heads. But little did we know, Larry was a driver who just dropped off some billionaire that owned an organic food company. We walked up to the car and with a big smile he rolled down the window and asked where we were heading. I think he would of just passed us and kept going if it was not for Jarod's stupid hat, it screams I'm a tourist. So he gave us a ride to the bike shop where our bikes are waiting for us. During the drive we came to learn that Larry is a godly man that was on his way to his church. He and his wife are bikers that have biked many miles together on a tandem.
We came to the bike shop and said our thank you's and told him he just made our blog. As Larry was getting ready to leave he handed us a card and said if you guys get in trouble or need a place to stay tonight give me a call. So thank you Larry for you kindness and god bless you and your family.
