The first day on the coast was not the best of days, cloudy and rainy, nothing new. It has been overcast and rainy since Portland and has really put a damper on the trip. After a good 18 miles ride down the coast, we called it a day. Night time can be the craziest time of the day. It is a very different feeling not knowing where you are going to seep for the night. We came across an RV park, which was full, so finally for the first time we started to knock on doors. After much knocking and another mile of pedaling, we, I mean Chad, woke up a guy who had to get up at 1:30 for work. Thankfully, he let us stay and was very happy to help us out. So a huge thanks goes out to him for his charity.
We knew it was going to rain a little that night or in the morning, so we wrapped a tarp around the bikes and gear. Then crawled in to bed for journal time, which usually consist of a lot of nodding off and about a half page of scribble.

ReplyDeleteChaz, I would like to buy you three a solid dinner along your way. It is very cool reading about your travels. Please let me know how I can send you a payment or make other plans. If you need to get a hold of me you can ask your Father (I work with him)for my number. Have a safe trip. You are making memories that you will NEVER forget. Ah, the stories you three will be able to tell!
